About Jen & Jacob
Jennifer and Jacob have been working together for nine years. Prior, Jacob worked for multiple restaurants and Jen was a nanny for numerous families. In their time as partners, they have started a small business called Tours for Tunes. Jacob is the visionary behind this project that promotes central Virginia’s local wineries, breweries, and art galleries by telling their stories and driving tours. Jacob and employees are hired as designated drivers and donate fifteen percent of proceeds to music-in-the-schools of Nelson County, Virginia. Tours are now being offered in King County, Washington, as well.
While Tours for Tunes developed, Jen was training to be an innkeeper at the Mark Addy Inn. Here, Jen began answering phones, selling packages, checking rooms, serving breakfast, completing payroll and making daily bank deposits. Because of a job well done and Jacob’s natural ability of all these tasks, as The Mark Addy is a family business, the two became assistant inn keepers and “inn sitters”. This responsibility required the two to stay at the inn at the owner’s request and run the operation. They always received raving guest reviews upon the owner’s return.
In addition to working front and back of the house at the inn and driving tours, Jacob has also been the drum line instructor and assistant band director at Nelson County High School. Jennifer has done show choir choreography at Nelson County High School as well as teach preschool, music and P.E. at North Branch School in Afton, Viginia. Jacob lived and worked in Nelson County, Virginia for eight years; Jen for ten. Jacob attended Shenandoah University and Rimon College of Music in Israel. Jen attended Randolph Macon’s Women’s College and Mary Baldwin College.
As of late, the two have relocated to Washington State. On the way, they spent time as part of the team at the historic Benbow Inn in Garberville, California; a beautiful Redwood retreat including 50 rooms, cabins, a camp ground, and golf course. Jacob assisted (back of house) in the restaurant. Jen assisted (front of house) at the front desk.
The two have traveled together in Europe, Israel and throughout the U.S. (and love to do it!) Jen and Jacob like to experience new cultures, appreciate different scenery, make new connections and help in new places.
